STORYLINE
Mrs. Bediako, a 42 year old staunch Christian is been married to her husband, Mr. Bediako, 45 years old civil engineer for 17 years. They have achieved almost everything in life with the exception of a child. They desperately seek for a child that they consult almost every pastor and doctor they know of.
Lucifer knowing how desperate the couple is visits heaven to know the intent of God when God is meeting with his angels and saints;
Unlike the biblical story of Job, where Lucifer takes from Job, this time, he conspicuously plots on giving the family what they need but is unable to get permission from Heaven and so turns to man for the permit.
Friends’ advice them to consult the oracles but they vehemently refuses. The advices and pressures comes from several quarters making it seem as though God is forsaken them. Mrs. Bediako thinks in her heart the idea of consulting a fetish and loves the thought. She tells her husband about it but he would hear of no such thing. When the devil knew what she wanted now and realized she is now, vulnerable, sends his daughter Veron into the womb of Mrs. Bediako, just like the situation of Virgin Mary.
They celebrate with loved ones when they knew Mrs. Bediako was pregnant and she gives birth to a beautiful baby girl who Lucifer deceives Bediako into naming her Veron.
The child Veron right form the age of 6 months start demonstrating her intents and powers with the assistance of Apate, goddess of Deceit and several other demons. The father feels obsessed with the child to the extend that he changes his signature into the daughter’s name.
Mrs. Bediako starts suspecting something is strange with the daughter but the husband would not hear of it. She does strange things that scare the mother. She appears at places at will, kills anyone who stands in her way and finally destroys the marriage of the parents.
Mrs. Bediako is sent to the church to stay whiles pastor James, the family pastor goes to the prayer camp to seek the favor and answers from God.
A group of Occult members, who are also having a problem with Pastor James teams with Veron to destroy him by attacking first his church, setting confusion amongst the elders and members but is stopped by Pastor James who comes back with the glory of God like fire around him. The hand of God hits Veron very hard that it sends her back to the chanting room of the black lords who later bury Veron alive.
Pastor James enjoins Mr. and Mrs. Bediako together after Mr. Bediako had realized what the daughter was and how much he had slipped away from the grace of God.
Heaven rejoices over the triumph of the pastor and the steadfastness of Mrs. Bediako. Lucifer visits Heaven again but is sacked by Christ after they made him understand that, there are still some good humans out there.
Mr. and Mrs. Bediako enjoy their new found joy with friends. They get back into business and restore their relation with God.
Pastor James, becomes canal after allowing the praises to get into his head, he starts believing he is so powerful that he begins to brag and say words that make him the healer of sickness and not the power of God.
Lucifer gets irritated and sends down the spirit of the deep sea to use her beauty to lure Pastor James into sinning. She comes onto the earth and disguises herself into a business woman who throws a party and invites Pastor James, who as at now had become so canal and charges people for the miracles and healings. Marina, the spirit of the sea goes to bed with Pastor James with the help of the black lords.
After this, marina goes back to the sea and the black lords go to resurrect Veron to come complete that which she started. She kills Pastor James mysteriously after Pastor James had confessed to God and left the church in the hands of Pastor Frank, a junior pastor.
Pastor Frank intercedes on behalf of Mrs. Bediako everyday after he knew Veron was back on earth.
Veron kills the father who backslides again, Devon, and a host of people but fails to kill Stacy and Mrs. Bediako. The hand of God this time, after serious prayers by Pastor Frank hits Veron and sends her back to the pit of hell.

heavenly realms
1 EXT. PARADISE EVENING
Flashes of light and roaring of thunder feels the air. A thick white smoke feels the atmosphere. A song of hymn comes from behind the smoke as the smoke heightens. Men and women numbering thousands in white silky clothes with shinning stars on their fore-heads face towards a shining throne. The hymnal heightens as men with huge wings behind them are seen standing around the shining throne. One holds in his hand, a sharp double edged sword with a war-lord’s crown on his head. the men and women in white clothes fall to the ground in worship.
GOD
I made man in my own image and made them
gods over the world. They should fear and respect me,
why do they disobey my will? I sacrificed my
only son for them and yet they don’t
appreciate it.
(a man with a face as bright
as the sun stands and faces
the throne)
CHRIST
Father, the world you created is now far too
corrupt. Your son’s and daughter’s are facing
steeper opposition than ever before. My apostles
are doing their best and they need more grace.
The whole place goes dead silent. Michael charges forward but is stopped by Gabriel stops him. Every one turns around slowly and all looks terrified. They create an opening. A man broken with a staff in hand walks cautiously towards the throne. Directly behind him is a tall lanky man in an over-all black coat walking majestically but cautiously towards the throne.
GOD
What do you want here?
HADES
(bows cautiously)
we come in peace Jehovah
GABRIEL
You have never known and accepted peace
so who do you think you are deceiving Hades?
HADES
We are here not to make ar. The battle
is out there and the records are clear for all to see
MICHAEL
You dare run your mouth even here?
Have you no shame and respect for the most
high anymore?
HADES
Who speaks of respect, you, angel of war?
You evade our kingdom and kill seven of our
war-lords and you speak of respect.
MICHAEL
You have no kingdom anywhere, don’t forget that.
HADES
You have always been arrogant.
(Lucifer taps Hades’ shoulder)
LUCIFER
Michael, Michael, Michael! How you have
grown too soon. You now can speak to me in
my face.
CHRIST
What do you want?
LUCIFER
My lord, I come in peace. We were just
on our daily errands and heard there
was a meeting going on here and so we
decided to pay our homage to Jehovah.
We mean no harm, I just want to reminisce
the good old times when I sat next to you.
CHRIST
Have you not done your worst?
LUCIFER
What can I do? You took the kingdom of
earth from me, remember?! I have no power
over the earth anymore.
GOD
Why do you worry the humans?
LUCIFER
It is not me. The humans of your son
are just but pathetic. They keep asking
for too much. Didn’t you say you have
given them what they want? Why
are they then worrying me?
CHRIST
This is a holy ground. You are not
welcome here, you can’t peddle lies
here, leave now before I lose my temper.
(Hades runs to hide behind
Lucifer)
LUCIFER
My lord, no need for that, I have
suffered enough of your wrath. I don’
t have the energy to go through another of
your wrath. We leave now.
GOD
Where are you going to?
LUCIFER
To where you banished me to,since
I have no place here, I will leave. The
humans are waiting for me
CHRIST
You dare touch any more of the humans
and you would feel my wrath
LUCIFER
You don’t need to my lord. You said you
have placed around them a hedge and
anyone who breaks the hedge, the
serpent would come in. I just sit and wait
for the hedge to break.
Lucifer and Hades walk back. The saints all look at them as they leave and they turn to the throne to see Michael poised for war but being calmed by Gabriel,
CHRIST
Father, you can’t allow him
GOD
My son, the destiny of man is in his hand.
2 INT BEDIAKO’S LIVING ROOM EVENING
A digital clock on the wall shows the time to be 20:11. A frame nest to it shows a marriage picture of a couple. A swift PAN to the door shows the man in the picture coming out with a bottle of alcohol. The woman in the pictures follows him looking worried.
BEDIAKO
I am sick and tired of all this fasting and
prayers.
(places the bottle on the
center table)
for how long are we to fast and pray?
(Mrs. Bediako picks up the
bottle)
MRS. BEDIAKO
Honey, God knows best
BEDIAKO
So God knows it is best to be married for
17 years without a child.
(tries to take the bottle
from the wife who denies
him)
God knows it is best to be married for 17
years and still be a subject of ridicule?
MRS. BEDIAKO
Honey, consider Sarah and Abraham,
BEDIAKO
Don’t even tell me that. Take a good look
at me, do I look like Abraham.
(picks his phone from the
table)
fine, you know what, just get me Hagar
and let me impregnate her so I …
MRS. BEDIAKO
What are you trying to tell me? Do I
look barren to you?
BEDIAKO
Don’t put words in my mouth. I will
be in the garden
he walks out of the room and heads to the garden, the wife follows him and nagging
3 EXT HELL EVENING
Screams fill the atmosphere as several men and women in tattered clothes appear to be in agony. They keep beating themselves. A thick black smoke fills the place as Hades and other demons appear from the smoke. They lick their lips of blood. Lucifer appears from behind a huge golden stool and sits on it.
LUCIFER
He thought he was smart. He thought he
had won just by resurrecting from
the dead. Now I have the whole world
to myself,
(he looks at the demons
and screams out)
Dolos!
DOLOS
Yes my lord, indeed the world is now
under your dominion.
(he points to the earth
beneath them as we see
men at war, women in
bikini at the beach,
men busily attending
their daily routines,
men visiting the fetish
priest and alse prophets,
men behind the computer
surfing the internet)
see! Man has falling for the things that
please their eyes. They make for themselves
weapons to destroy themselves. In the name of
fashion, they go nude. They have forgone the
gathering of the saints as ordained in their bible.
LUCIFER
How come?
DOLOS
We realized that it was close to impossible
to winning them from their God and so we
placed them under the B. U. S. Y. sect.
(Lucifer looking
confused)
Being Under Satan’s Yoke
(all the demons burst
into
laughter)
making them busy, makes it impossible
for them not to read their bible and
once they don’t read their bible, they failto know
what is demanded of them. Instead they go to
our men for help. They have fallen for globalization,
the internet has captured them. Everyone seems
too busy. The world is in total confusion my lord, they
await your coming.
(the demons nod their
head in acceptance and
laugh out loud)
LUCIFER
Enough! It appears finished but as long
as he has not come, there still have work to
do especially in the chosen lands, but for now
celebrate.
(he looks at a young
demon and calls her)
Veron!
(She looks at him
and smiles)
My beloved daughter, I ask you to
cheer me up
Sounds of music is played from behind the throne as Apate starts to dance to the amusement of the all the demons. The humans that are in pain look at Apate dance but are unable to get close to where Lucifer and the demons are because they are in a fire cage. The demons cheer her up . Lucifer stands to his feet in anger and shouts
Stop!
(points to Mr. and Mrs.
Bediako on earth arguing
and looks at Apate)
they are your new family. Apate, you have
never failed me in your 300 years of living,
this time, I send you to this world.
They are desperately in need of
a child. They know their God has
forsaken them and so I give them a child.
Veron, your parents
Apate disappears from the others. They all starts yelling and cheering Lucifer
4 INT BEDIAKO’S LIVING ROOM MORNING
Songs of don Moen is heard as a frame of a happy family hangs on the wall. Two men are sitting on the sofa in the living room.
KOOMSON
Bediako, you need not stay in door all day.
It is not your fault things are not moving
the way you want it.
BEDIAKO
But why must I be one going through all
this. Come to think of it, I have been
faithful to God all this while, I worship
him earnestly, pay my tithe, what else
is there for me to do?
(Koomson laughs at him
and picks a remote from
the table)
KOOMSON
I can’t believe you are the one saying
this. I thought you were the man of
God who preached of steadfastness. Let
me be the one preaching you today, your
bible said, Job…
BEDIAKO
Oh please, spare me that
KOOMSON
Seriously, the other guys are meeting
at the joint today, let go meet they. I
know you are disturbed but I assure you
after meeting them, you would be good.
BEDIAKO
I am not ready to go out.
KOOMSON
I insist

PASTOR JAMES
Mrs. Bediako, you need to know God knows
best, you need to put your trust in him
and be steadfast.
MRS. BEDIAKO
Pastor, I wish my husband would understand
it but he is still not ready to listen. His
behavior is deteriorating by the day.
PSTOR JAMES
You can’t blame your husband. You both are
in trying moments. The devil is working hard
against you and you need to keep praying for him.
It is my prayer that God would intercede in his own
time.
MRS BEDIAKO
Amen
PASTORS JAMES
Let’s pray
(they hold hands as pastor

heavenly father, we thank you for the love
and mercy you keep showing us…

KOOMSON
Man, if you go n like this, you would die
before your time
ISAAC
Life is all that matters man
BEDIAKO’
I don’t care if I should die, I just need
a child. I don’t care now what I need to do.
FELIX
Cheer up, man
BEDIAKO
Guys, I don’t know what I should do now.
Tell me, which doctor have we not seen in
this town? Which pastor have we not seen? I
have wasted almost all my fortunes for a child.
FELIX
But you haven’t seen a native doctor yet,
it could be spiritual.
BEDIAKO
Spiritual and my pastors didn’t tell me
ISAAC
A spiritualist is all you need now
KOOMSON
You have not tasted anything and the banku
is getting cold. Everything would be fine
BEDIAKO
I can’t eat
KOOMSON

You don’t look your usual self at all, I hope
all is well?
MRS BEDIAKO
My dear, you talk as if you don’t know what
I am facing.
MAVIS
What do you mean?
MRS BEDIAKO
Is it not my childbearing problem? It has
turned my husband into a monster. He is not
the man I married.
MAVIS
Can you blame him? You are just adamant. I
have always asked you to do what is right but
you just won’t listen
MRS BEDIAKO
What do you mean?
MAVIS
What have you really done about it?
MRS. BEDIAKO
We have seen all the pastors in town and the
doctors, what else can I do?
MAVIS
Have you seen…
(she whispers into her
ears)
an okomfo?
MRS BEDIAKO
Mavis! I am a Christian. How do you
expect me to go see a fetish priest?
MAVIS
Okay, sit there and let your Christianity
give you birth
MRS BEDIAKO
Mavis, why are you talking like that?
MAVIS
What do you expect me to say? Listen to me

adultery in school, nor aborted. Jennifer who
had series of abortion even has three children. Maybe,
Mavis is right; I need to see a native doctor.
After all it is not a sin.

(he snuggles and turns

Bediako!
BEDIAKO
Hmmm! What is it?
MRS BEDIAKO
Please, let’s talk
BEDIAKO
I hope it is not this fasting and prayers
issues, because if it is, I advise you to
put your head on that pillow there and sleep.
MRS BEDIAKO
Please get up and let’s talk. I want to
talk to you.
(he sits up on the bed
feeling tired and sleepy)
do you think I am happy with our current
situation? I am not.
(Bediako grins)
BEDIAKO
Not the right time for your nagging
MRS BEDIAKO
No, I am concern. I am only saying, why
not try other places. I think a native doctor
can help
BEDIAKO
Look, if you have visited the 7th heavens, I
suggest you go back. I want to sleep.

MRS BEDIAKO
That is okay. Is my result in?
DOCTOR
Yes, I just took it from the nurse.
MRS BEDIAKO
What is it saying?
DOCTOR
I am just about to read it to know
what it says.
(he opens it and
reads it,
looking fascinated.
He
laughs shockingly)
this is unbelievable.
MRS. BEDIAKO
What is it doctor?
DOCTOR
I don’t know myself but the test here
says, you are 3 months pregnant
MRS BEDIAKO
You don’t mean it
DOCTOR
Read for yourself

your hand on me even though you have
never done it before, I have a new for
you.
BEDIAKO
I don’t have time for your nagging
and silly attitudes
MRS BEDIAKO
Oh really
(she opens her bag
and pulls out and
envelope and throws
it to him)
BEDIAKO
And what is this?
(She ignores him
and walks towards
the bedroom)
I hope it is not one of your expensive
budgets
(he opens the envelope
and reads what is
on it and looks
stunned)
what is the meaning of this
(the wife pretends
to have not heard
him)
you must be kidding right
(he starts breaking
into smiles)
you can’t be serious. You are 3…
3… months preg….nant
MRS BEDIAKO
At least that is what the doctor says
BEDIAKO
you… yo… have no idea…
(the wife opens the
door to the bedroom
and he looks at her
smiling)
an where do you think you are going to?
MRS BEDIAKO
To the bedroom of course
(Mr. Bediako jumps the

ISAAC
At home with my family

ISAAC
I did but
BEDIAKO
But what, today, is the happiest day of
my life and instead of being with me
you choose to be with your family.
ISAAC
The other guys are coming right?
BEDIAKO
Certainly they…
(Koomson and Felix
enter into the
bar and sees Bediako
excited on phone,
Bediako sees them
and waves them to
his table)
they just arrived. Just stay at home and
we would have fun
(he ends the call
and sips more wine)
KOOMSON
Charles Bernard Bediako
BEDIAKO
The iron man!
KOOMSON
This is the side of you that we have never seen.
FELIX
It baffles me; I am beginning to think you
are loosing it
BEDIAKO
Losing what? Listen I am in the best mood
of my life. Look if you guys want to drink,
feel free and do so for in 6 months top, I
would be a father
FELIX

a child?
BEDIAKO

(Koomson taps him
on the shoulder)
KOOMSON
I don’t think he is joking. He is real.
(They look at each

BEDIAKO
In all sincerity, she looks very much like
my grandmother.
MRS BEDIAKO
No, not your grandmother, she looks likes my mother
BEDIAKO
Look at her nose that is not the nose of your mother!
MRS BEDIAKO
I agree on that but nothing of hers is that
of your grandmother, but what name are we
settling on? I still suggest Grace.
BEDIAKO
No way, I have told you, Grace is far too a
common name. Just take a good look at her, she
is a princess, suggest something better.
MRS. BEDIAKO
Since you have cancelled out all the names I
have given, you make your own suggestion.
(Bediako gets up
and walks around
the room. He

of a painting)
LUCIFER (0S)
Veron!

BEDIAKO
She would be called Veron that is her name Veron!
MRS BEDIAKO
What is the meaning of that name?
BEDIAKO
It doesn’t matter what it means, someone just
mentioned that name and it must be a powerful
name, she would be called Princess Veron Bediako

Veron
MRS BEDIAKO

Bediako puts Veron
on the sofa and starts

The idea ofyou preaching is good but it is not
just the saying it that matters, you need to pray
for God’s guidance.
STEVEN
Come on John, don’t be a girl. I have listened to
pastor preach almost every Sunday and I can tell
you I am ready for it. Besides am doing the
work on God
JOHN
It is not all who say, God’s name that would
go to heaven

him in the face if I see him
(Veron gets irritated
by that statement)
I pray you all can stand the devil like
myself, amen!
CLASS
Amen
(He walks pass the

pull yourself together. Your son needs you.
MADAM ESHUN
But what have I done wrong? He was okay
yesternight before going to bed, and now he
cant talk, cant walk.
(she sobs painfully)
PASTOR JAMES

MRS BEDIAKO
Mavis, take it easy with her
MAVIS

I am sorry my lord but it is of grave concern
to my brotherhood. We having problem with this
exuberant pastor who is making our work

have failed.
DOLOS
So what do you want me to do?

We need you to intervene.
DOLOS
I personally cant because I have other
assignments but then someone can.
GREGG
We don’t want just anybody. We need to get rid of
him once and for all.
DOLOS
You don’t know who is in your midst on earth.
Tomorrow during your meeting, tell your brothers
that the great Veron would visit you.
(Gregg looks amused)
GREGG

on the image of Dolos)
it is of the worries of our reign that makes
us to call you on such a short lease. We have

CHRIS
He has made our work and that of your father
very difficult.
VERON
Who is this man?
GREGG
He is called Pastor James
(Veron looks sharply to
Gregg and then fumes)

PASTOR FRANK
So we can always believe in the adamic power.
The joy of the lord is our strength. It is said
in the good book that…
Some demons appear in the church. As pastor Frank preaches, some of the demons blow air into the eyes of some of the members who fall asleep, others knock some of the members and cause them to argue. Som eof the demons sit amongst the members and raise conversations for them. Some have phone conversations just to distract them from listening to the preaching. Thr elders get worried as they watch the members.
84 EXT FORE-COURT OF THE CHURCH DAY
The members come out of the church auditorium feeling relieved. The elders come out and stand before the church. They see Pastor Frank conversing with some of the members.
ELDER 1
I don’t seem to know what really happened today.
ELDER 2
I am sure it is because pastor is not around.
ELDER 3
He had better come early before things got out of hands.
ELDER 1
I am sure next week would be different
INT CHURCH AUDITORIUM DAY
Pastor james stands on the podium and preach with the church elders behind him. The elders look woried as we see the some of the church members sleeping.
PASTOR FRANK
For it is written in the book of Isaiah that
the thoughts of God are not our thought, neithr
his ways our ways…
The demons appear in the church again, this time with Veron sitting at the upper floor with Apate and the two demon messengers.
PASTOR FRANK
We are not wrestling against flesh and blood
but against principalities and forces of the
dark world…
85 EXT FORE COURT OF THE CHURCH DAY
The elders stand before the church looking irritated, as they realise that the church is dying gradually. A demon stands next to them and puts his hand around the neck of Elder 3
ELDER 1
This in not the first time. I am beginning to
get worried
ELDER 3
I am already worried.
(he looks around him to
be sure no one
is eavesdropping and
pulls the other two
elders closer)
I hear Pastor is under some cult and that it
is time for him to make sacrifice that is
why he is gone.
ELDER 2
That wont be anything strange because ever
since he left the church is dying gradually.
ELDER 3
I suggest that we excommunicate Pastor James now
and find another pastor before he destroys
the church.
ELDER 2
I certainly agree with you.
ELDER 1
Let’s not rush in making decisions, lets wait
and see what happens next week.we should all
pray for the better.
ELDER 3
You don’t need to compromise on issues like this.
The church is dying and we are loosing mmbers to
the neighboring churches. Very soon, there would be
only chairs left in the church.
ELDER 2
That is if the boys in the area don’t come to
steal the chairs.
ELDER 1
I agree with you but I think we can think of
this next week.
(the elders nod head
and walk off. Mrs.
Bediako stands behind
the gate to the
church and eavesdropped
the conversation, as
she turns, she
bumps into a sister.)
MRS BEDIAKO

KOOMSON

BEDIAKO
How can that be possible.
KOOMSON
What better explanation can one give? So tell

BEDIAKO
I have no freaking idea
(they walk to the car)
KOOMSON
And where is your daught?
BEDIAKO
That one is another story. I hardly see her now,
my life is a mess.
KOOMSONN
And your wife? Don’t you think you need to go look

a picture of Jesus on

just and mighty. He would reward you according to
your works.
Mrs. Bediako sits in the first row and sheds tears as she listens to the word of God. The demons appear in the church again, this time with Veron sitting in the congregation.
PASTOR FRANK
we would rejoice and be glad in his name.
(Pastor Frank stops
preaching and looks
ahead, the elders all
look ahead. Veron turns
to look behind as

fire around him.
She closes her eyes

The memebers in the church run to the sides of the church leaving the opening for the pastor and Veron. Mrs. Bediako opens her mout wide and starts crrying.
PASTOR JAMES
you fowl spirit from the pit of hell. You have no
authority and place here. By the unctions of the
holy Spirit, I send you back to hell.
(he starts speaking

Flashes of light and roaring of thunder feels the air. A thick white smoke feels the atmosphere. A song of hymn comes from behind the smoke as the smoke heightens. Men and women numbering thousands in white silky clothes with shinning stars on their fore-heads face towards a shining throne. The hymnal heightens as men with huge wings behind them are seen standing around the shining throne. One holds in his hand, a sharp double edged sword with a war-lord’s crown on his head. the men and women in white clothes fall to the ground in worship.
GOD
I made man in my own image and made them
gods over the world. They should fear and respect me,
why do they disobey my will? I sacrificed my
only son for them and yet they don’t
appreciate it.
(a man with a face as bright
as the sun stands and faces
the throne)
CHRIST
Father, the world you created is now far too
corrupt. Your son’s and daughter’s are facing
steeper opposition than ever before. My apostles
are doing their best and they need more grace.
The whole place goes dead silent. Michael charges forward but is stopped by Gabriel stops him. Every one turns around slowly and all looks terrified. They create an opening. A man broken with a staff in hand walks cautiously towards the throne. Directly behind him is a tall lanky man in an over-all black coat walking majestically but cautiously towards the throne.
GOD
What do you want here?
HADES
(bows cautiously)
we come in peace Jehovah
GABRIEL
You have never known and accepted peace
so who do you think you are deceiving Hades?
HADES
We are here not to make ar. The battle
is out there and the records are clear for all to see
MICHAEL
You dare run your mouth even here?
Have you no shame and respect for the most
high anymore?
HADES
Who speaks of respect, you, angel of war?
You evade our kingdom and kill seven of our
war-lords and you speak of respect.
MICHAEL
You have no kingdom anywhere, don’t forget that.
HADES
You have always been arrogant.
(Lucifer taps Hades’ shoulder)
LUCIFER
Michael, Michael, Michael! How you have
grown too soon. You now can speak to me in
my face.
CHRIST
What do you want?
LUCIFER
My lord, I come in peace. We were just
on our daily errands and heard there
was a meeting going on here and so we
decided to pay our homage to Jehovah.
We mean no harm, I just want to reminisce
the good old times when I sat next to you.
CHRIST
Have you not done your worst?
LUCIFER
What can I do? You took the kingdom of
earth from me, remember?! I have no power
over the earth anymore.
GOD
Why do you worry the humans?
LUCIFER
It is not me. The humans of your son
are just but pathetic. They keep asking
for too much. Didn’t you say you have
given them what they want? Why
are they then worrying me?
CHRIST
This is a holy ground. You are not
welcome here, you can’t peddle lies
here, leave now before I lose my temper.
(Hades runs to hide behind
Lucifer)
LUCIFER
My lord, no need for that, I have
suffered enough of your wrath. I don’
t have the energy to go through another of
your wrath. We leave now.
GOD
Where are you going to?
LUCIFER
To where you banished me to,since
I have no place here, I will leave. The
humans are waiting for me
CHRIST
You dare touch any more of the humans
and you would feel my wrath
LUCIFER
You don’t need to my lord. You said you
have placed around them a hedge and
anyone who breaks the hedge, the
serpent would come in. I just sit and wait
for the hedge to break.
Lucifer and Hades walk back. The saints all look at them as they leave and they turn to the throne to see Michael poised for war but being calmed by Gabriel,
CHRIST
Father, you can’t allow him
GOD
My son, the destiny of man is in his hand.
2 INT BEDIAKO’S LIVING ROOM EVENING
A digital clock on the wall shows the time to be 20:11. A frame nest to it shows a marriage picture of a couple. A swift PAN to the door shows the man in the picture coming out with a bottle of alcohol. The woman in the pictures follows him looking worried.
BEDIAKO
I am sick and tired of all this fasting and
prayers.
(places the bottle on the
center table)
for how long are we to fast and pray?
(Mrs. Bediako picks up the
bottle)
MRS. BEDIAKO
Honey, God knows best
BEDIAKO
So God knows it is best to be married for
17 years without a child.
(tries to take the bottle
from the wife who denies
him)
God knows it is best to be married for 17
years and still be a subject of ridicule?
MRS. BEDIAKO
Honey, consider Sarah and Abraham,
BEDIAKO
Don’t even tell me that. Take a good look
at me, do I look like Abraham.
(picks his phone from the
table)
fine, you know what, just get me Hagar
and let me impregnate her so I …
MRS. BEDIAKO
What are you trying to tell me? Do I
look barren to you?
BEDIAKO
Don’t put words in my mouth. I will
be in the garden
he walks out of the room and heads to the garden, the wife follows him and nagging
3 EXT HELL EVENING
Screams fill the atmosphere as several men and women in tattered clothes appear to be in agony. They keep beating themselves. A thick black smoke fills the place as Hades and other demons appear from the smoke. They lick their lips of blood. Lucifer appears from behind a huge golden stool and sits on it.
LUCIFER
He thought he was smart. He thought he
had won just by resurrecting from
the dead. Now I have the whole world
to myself,
(he looks at the demons
and screams out)
Dolos!
DOLOS
Yes my lord, indeed the world is now
under your dominion.
(he points to the earth
beneath them as we see
men at war, women in
bikini at the beach,
men busily attending
their daily routines,
men visiting the fetish
priest and alse prophets,
men behind the computer
surfing the internet)
see! Man has falling for the things that
please their eyes. They make for themselves
weapons to destroy themselves. In the name of
fashion, they go nude. They have forgone the
gathering of the saints as ordained in their bible.
LUCIFER
How come?
DOLOS
We realized that it was close to impossible
to winning them from their God and so we
placed them under the B. U. S. Y. sect.
(Lucifer looking
confused)
Being Under Satan’s Yoke
(all the demons burst
into
laughter)
making them busy, makes it impossible
for them not to read their bible and
once they don’t read their bible, they failto know
what is demanded of them. Instead they go to
our men for help. They have fallen for globalization,
the internet has captured them. Everyone seems
too busy. The world is in total confusion my lord, they
await your coming.
(the demons nod their
head in acceptance and
laugh out loud)
LUCIFER
Enough! It appears finished but as long
as he has not come, there still have work to
do especially in the chosen lands, but for now
celebrate.
(he looks at a young
demon and calls her)
Veron!
(She looks at him
and smiles)
My beloved daughter, I ask you to
cheer me up
Sounds of music is played from behind the throne as Apate starts to dance to the amusement of the all the demons. The humans that are in pain look at Apate dance but are unable to get close to where Lucifer and the demons are because they are in a fire cage. The demons cheer her up . Lucifer stands to his feet in anger and shouts
Stop!
(points to Mr. and Mrs.
Bediako on earth arguing
and looks at Apate)
they are your new family. Apate, you have
never failed me in your 300 years of living,
this time, I send you to this world.
They are desperately in need of
a child. They know their God has
forsaken them and so I give them a child.
Veron, your parents
Apate disappears from the others. They all starts yelling and cheering Lucifer
4 INT BEDIAKO’S LIVING ROOM MORNING
Songs of don Moen is heard as a frame of a happy family hangs on the wall. Two men are sitting on the sofa in the living room.
KOOMSON
Bediako, you need not stay in door all day.
It is not your fault things are not moving
the way you want it.
BEDIAKO
But why must I be one going through all
this. Come to think of it, I have been
faithful to God all this while, I worship
him earnestly, pay my tithe, what else
is there for me to do?
(Koomson laughs at him
and picks a remote from
the table)
KOOMSON
I can’t believe you are the one saying
this. I thought you were the man of
God who preached of steadfastness. Let
me be the one preaching you today, your
bible said, Job…
BEDIAKO
Oh please, spare me that
KOOMSON
Seriously, the other guys are meeting
at the joint today, let go meet they. I
know you are disturbed but I assure you
after meeting them, you would be good.
BEDIAKO
I am not ready to go out.
KOOMSON
I insist
Koomson pulls him up and pushes him to the door and they walk out.

PASTOR JAMES
Mrs. Bediako, you need to know God knows
best, you need to put your trust in him
and be steadfast.
MRS. BEDIAKO
Pastor, I wish my husband would understand
it but he is still not ready to listen. His
behavior is deteriorating by the day.
PSTOR JAMES
You can’t blame your husband. You both are
in trying moments. The devil is working hard
against you and you need to keep praying for him.
It is my prayer that God would intercede in his own
time.
MRS BEDIAKO
Amen
PASTORS JAMES
Let’s pray
(they hold hands as pastor
James stands to pray)
heavenly father, we thank you for the love
and mercy you keep showing us…

A group of young people numbering between 15, to 20 are in the spot drinking and chatting. Some young women in skimpy dresses walk to sit by some young men. Three men are seen sitting around a table with one empty chair. Koomson comes from the washroom and sits on the empty seat.
KOOMSON
Man, if you go n like this, you would die
before your time
ISAAC
Life is all that matters man
BEDIAKO’
I don’t care if I should die, I just need
a child. I don’t care now what I need to do.
FELIX
Cheer up, man
BEDIAKO
Guys, I don’t know what I should do now.
Tell me, which doctor have we not seen in
this town? Which pastor have we not seen? I
have wasted almost all my fortunes for a child.
FELIX
But you haven’t seen a native doctor yet,
it could be spiritual.
BEDIAKO
Spiritual and my pastors didn’t tell me
ISAAC
A spiritualist is all you need now
KOOMSON
You have not tasted anything and the banku
is getting cold. Everything would be fine
BEDIAKO
I can’t eat
KOOMSON
Come on man.
Felix tries to feed him, as they sing a happy birthday song for him. Every one joins in the singing and he feels a bit embarrassed. He starts to eat and the other friends laugh at him.
7 INT MAVIS’ SALOON DAY
A couple of women sit in the dryer whiles others read magazines. One of the apprentices walks in with a towel and gives it to the madam who works on the hair of Mrs. Bediako. Mrs. Bediako looks worried in the mirror
MAVIS
You don’t look your usual self at all, I hope
all is well?
MRS BEDIAKO
My dear, you talk as if you don’t know what
I am facing.
MAVIS
What do you mean?
MRS BEDIAKO
Is it not my childbearing problem? It has
turned my husband into a monster. He is not
the man I married.
MAVIS
Can you blame him? You are just adamant. I
have always asked you to do what is right but
you just won’t listen
MRS BEDIAKO
What do you mean?
MAVIS
What have you really done about it?
MRS. BEDIAKO
We have seen all the pastors in town and the
doctors, what else can I do?
MAVIS
Have you seen…
(she whispers into her
ears)
an okomfo?
MRS BEDIAKO
Mavis! I am a Christian. How do you
expect me to go see a fetish priest?
MAVIS
Okay, sit there and let your Christianity
give you birth
MRS BEDIAKO
Mavis, why are you talking like that?
MAVIS
What do you expect me to say? Listen to me
carefully; the best advice is what I have given.
Go see an okomfo.
Mavis ignores her and continues styling her hair. The apprentices also works on the other customers
8 EXT PORCH OF BEDIAKO’S HOUSE EVENING
Mrs. Bediako sits and thinks aloud
MRS BEDIAKO VO
What else am I to do? All my peers have
children, if not one, two. I never committed
adultery in school, nor aborted. Jennifer who
had series of abortion even has three children. Maybe,
Mavis is right; I need to see a native doctor.
After all it is not a sin.
She walks into the room. Apate appears at the door and smiles to herself.

Mr. Bediako lies in bed snoring heavenly. Mrs. Bediako walks into the room and looks at the digital clock in the room which indicates the time to be 19:48. She sits on the bed and calls her husband

Bediako! Bediako
(he snuggles and turns
around to sleep well)
Bediako!
BEDIAKO
Hmmm! What is it?
MRS BEDIAKO
Please, let’s talk
BEDIAKO
I hope it is not this fasting and prayers
issues, because if it is, I advise you to
put your head on that pillow there and sleep.
MRS BEDIAKO
Please get up and let’s talk. I want to
talk to you.
(he sits up on the bed
feeling tired and sleepy)
do you think I am happy with our current
situation? I am not.
(Bediako grins)
BEDIAKO
Not the right time for your nagging
MRS BEDIAKO
No, I am concern. I am only saying, why
not try other places. I think a native doctor
can help
BEDIAKO
Look, if you have visited the 7th heavens, I
suggest you go back. I want to sleep.
(he dips his head in
between his pillows and
sleep)
MRS BEDIAKO
Bediako, can’t you see I want to help.

MRS BEDIAKO
I don’t know but I feel weak. I think I need to
go see the doctor for a check up
BEDIAKO
And so what should I do about it?
MRS BEDIAKO
I want you to send me to the hospital.

MRS BEDIAKO
That is okay. Is my result in?
DOCTOR
Yes, I just took it from the nurse.
MRS BEDIAKO
What is it saying?
DOCTOR
I am just about to read it to know
what it says.
(he opens it and
reads it,
looking fascinated.
He
laughs shockingly)
this is unbelievable.
MRS. BEDIAKO
What is it doctor?
DOCTOR
I don’t know myself but the test here
says, you are 3 months pregnant
MRS BEDIAKO
You don’t mean it
DOCTOR
Read for yourself
(he gives the test results
to her and she seems

nagging right now.
(Bediako looks to the
left to see if there
is someone besides
him in the room
and looks back to
the wife stunned)
so there isn’t anything reasonable in
the house for you to do than to sleep
here right?
BEDIAKO
And who are you talking to?
MRS BEDIAKO
The one and only Charles Bernard
Bediako and before you try to raise
your hand on me even though you have
never done it before, I have a new for
you.
BEDIAKO
I don’t have time for your nagging
and silly attitudes
MRS BEDIAKO
Oh really
(she opens her bag
and pulls out and
envelope and throws
it to him)
BEDIAKO
And what is this?
(She ignores him
and walks towards
the bedroom)
I hope it is not one of your expensive
budgets
(he opens the envelope
and reads what is
on it and looks
stunned)
what is the meaning of this
(the wife pretends
to have not heard
him)
you must be kidding right
(he starts breaking
into smiles)
you can’t be serious. You are 3…
3… months preg….nant
MRS BEDIAKO
At least that is what the doctor says
BEDIAKO
you… yo… have no idea…
(the wife opens the
door to the bedroom
and he looks at her
smiling)
an where do you think you are going to?
MRS BEDIAKO
To the bedroom of course
(Mr. Bediako jumps the
sofa and carries
her up high. She
drops her bag and
begs for breath)
BEDIAKO
I am sorry but this is the best news
I have had in years.
MRS BEDIAKO
Oh so now you ready for my budget?
BEDIAKO
Anything for you my dear, anything
(he laughs out loud
and sings “abodenyina
ye wa ye, awurade”

as, “every creation
praise you Lord”)
MRS BEDIAKO
Let me drop my bag and take a shower
BEDIAKO
Okay. Honey be careful, the floor is wet.

BEDIAKO
Heya Isaac, where in God’s name are you
ISAAC
At home with my family
BEDIAKO
Did you or did you not get my text message?
ISAAC
I did but
BEDIAKO
But what, today, is the happiest day of
my life and instead of being with me
you choose to be with your family.
ISAAC
The other guys are coming right?
BEDIAKO
Certainly they…
(Koomson and Felix
enter into the

MRS BEDIAKO
I agree on that but nothing of hers is that
of your grandmother, but what name are we

No way, I have told you, Grace is far too a
common name. Just take a good look at her, she

Apparently, you are handling it well. I am your
wife, share with me
BEDIAKO
I lost a full container of goods on the high sea
today and the turn of events is moving from

your tithe…
MRS BEDIAKO
That is not the issue, do not fore go the gathering
of the saints. I feel something is wrong with
our daughter
BEDIAKO
Please for crying out loud, leave our daughter
out of this.
MRS BEDIAKO
No I cant. I believe there is something wrong with
her. If not fact that she is our child, I would

LUCIFER
What is it that makes you disturb me Dolos?
DOLOS
My lord, sorry to disturb you but I need to ask
permission from you to go onto earth.
LUCIFER
Why would you want to do that?
DOLOS
A mortal has challenged one of my servants and
he wants me to take care of him.
(looks down onto earth
and sees the incident
between Gregg and
the taxi driver.
Veron steps forward)
VERON
Father, I beg of you to let me take care of this.
Besides it is been long since we had real
blood flow on earth.
LUCIFER

The idea ofyou preaching is good but it is not
just the saying it that matters, you need to pray
for God’s guidance.
STEVEN
Come on John, don’t be a girl. I have listened to

STEVEN
So friends, in short, do not fear the devil,
the devil has power over only those who
fear him. I am not afraid of the devil and can slap
him in the face if I see him
(Veron gets irritated
by that statement)
I pray you all can stand the devil like
myself, amen!
CLASS
Amen
(He walks pass the
colleague whose
pen he took and sees
the friend searching
for the pen but ignores
him and goes to
his deck. He is
stopped by Veron)

(makes a funny face)

MRS BEDIAKO
She is also my daughter, if I feel something is
wrong with her, do you expect me to keep quiet?
BEDIAKO
I expect you to behave like a mother. I would

pull yourself together. Your son needs you.
MADAM ESHUN
But what have I done wrong? He was okay
yesternight before going to bed, and now he
cant talk, cant walk.
(she sobs painfully)
PASTOR JAMES

has stopped us several times.
VERON
So, we both have the same enemy now.
(the other lords look at
each other’s face)
If he wont let us be, certainly, he wont be.
If he wants war, we would declare war
against him
GREGG
How do we do that your higness?
VERON
(looks straight into
the eyes of Gregg
and moves towards
him, all the other
lords lok scared)
without his church, who would he be?
(the lords look at each
other’s face again
and start to giggle)

So we can always believe in the adamic power.
The joy of the lord is our strength. It is said
in the good book that…
Some demons appear in the church. As pastor Frank preaches, some of the demons blow air into the eyes of some of the members who fall asleep, others knock some of the members and cause them to argue. Som eof the demons sit amongst the members and raise conversations for them. Some have phone conversations just to distract them from listening to the preaching. Thr elders get worried as they watch the members.

As pastor Frank preaches, some of the demons blow air into the eyes of some of the members who fall asleep, others knock some of the members and cause them to argue. Som eof the demons sit amongst the members and raise conversations for them. Some have phone conversations just to distract them from listening to the preaching. ELDER 3
I am already worried.
(he looks around him to
be sure no one
is eavesdropping and
pulls the other two

I hear Pastor is under some cult and that it
is time for him to make sacrifice that is
why he is gone.
ELDER 2
That wont be anything strange because ever
since he left the church is dying gradually.
ELDER 3
I suggest that we excommunicate Pastor James now
and find another pastor before he destroys
the church.
ELDER 2
I certainly agree with you.
ELDER 1
Let’s not rush in making decisions, lets wait
and see what happens next week.we should all
pray for the better.
ELDER 3
You don’t need to compromise on issues like this.
The church is dying and we are loosing mmbers to
the neighboring churches. Very soon, there would be
only chairs left in the church.
ELDER 2
That is if the boys in the area don’t come to
steal the chairs.
ELDER 1
I agree with you but I think we can think of
this next week.

and walk off. Mrs.
Bediako stands behind
